On a recent episode of Justin Laboy’s radio show The Download, Kanye premiered his remix to “Like That,” the Kendrick-assisted single by Future and Metro Boomin that has ignited an industry-wide war.

The Remix: Shots Fired at Drake and J. Cole

Kanye doesn’t hold back in his remix. He takes aim at Drake’s label deals, countering the jabs Drake made at Kendrick over his own contracts. Kendrick Lamar, arguably the nucleus of this entire attack against Drake, remains a central figure. Drake even enlisted AI-generated vocals of West Coast hip-hop legends Tupac and Snoop Dogg for a freestyle entitled “Taylor Made,” where he alleges that Kendrick’s delay in responding was due to Taylor Swift releasing her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

A History of Animosity

Kanye and Drake have a long history of animosity.
